# The AOD-9604 reading list

> Certified Med Spas bibliography — The Certified Med Spas reading list gathers the AOD-9604 publications on fat metabolism, human tolerability, identification and rabbit cartilage.

The original experiments, the human safety summary and the later reviews, gathered by subject.

## Fat metabolism

The [enzyme experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/6137122/) and [rat fat-tissue assay](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8358331/) concern C-terminal growth-hormone fragments. The [metabolic characterization of AOD9604](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11146367/), [receptor-knockout experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11713213/) and [fat-oxidation mouse study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11673763/) extend the biological record. Of these, I’d open the tissue assay first: the distinction between inhibiting fat formation and measuring fat breakdown is unusually clear there.

## Human tolerability

The [human safety report](https://www.jofem.org/index.php/jofem/article/view/157/194) concerns oral AOD9604 in adults with obesity. The [later sports-medicine review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41966639/) supplies a broader warning about the human safety evidence for unapproved peptides.

## Identity and cartilage

The [seized-preparations case report](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24976118/) and [urine-screening methods paper](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26578461/) address analytical questions. The [rabbit knee study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26275694/) concerns a different research direction, with a cartilage outcome in an animal model.
